A client from Iron Mountain was referred to our shop by a friend about upgrading the sound system in his 2018 Chevrolet Silverado. He wanted to keep an OEM look and feel to any upgrade we made, so we discussed some options and got to work.
We used a PAC Audio AmpPRO AP4-GM61 to obtain a clean audio signal from the OEM radio. We piped this signal to a JL Audio JX1000/l that makes the JL Audio SB-GM-SLVCC3/10TW3/BK2 Stealthbox hammer. We bolted the Stealthbox securely under the rear seat to provide safety while driving, as well as to prevent theft. We also mounted a remote bass knob for the amplifier win a hideaway location to maintain the stock appearance in the interior, while still allowing for quick and easy adjustment of the subwoofer output while he’s driving.
