Driven Sound and Security of Negaunee, MI, is proud to participate in Coats for Kids, a program to generate donations of new and gently-used winter coats for local children in need. For every customer who brings in a new or gently used winter coat for a child, Driven Sound and Security will offer up to a $50 discount on installation of a new remote car starter.
Coats for Kids began several years ago as a community project of a Pennsylvania mobile electronics store and is now a national program that is expanding throughout the mobile electronics world. “We think this is a great opportunity to connect people who want remote vehicle starters during cold weather with local children who need warm coats in the same season,” said Jeremy Lambertson, owner of Driven Sound and Security. “Offering a discount on a remote starter in return for a warm coat for a child just seems logical.”
Driven Sound and Security will distribute all donated children’s coats in the immediate Negaunee area, said Lambertson. The program runs from October 1–December 24, 2015. The dropoff point for coats is Driven Sound and Security at 6 US 41 E, Negaunee, MI 49866. New and gently used coats for adults will also be accepted, but the discount is only for children’s coats. Participants may donate more than one child’s coat, but there is only one discount per remote starter purchase.
“The Coats for Kids program is a win-win-win,” said Lambertson. “Our customers get a discount on a useful product, kids in our community get the warm coats they need for the winter and nonprofit organizations get support in their efforts to help families, and members of the community have a chance to clean out their closets while doing something nice for children. We are proud to participate.”
