Car Starter and Heated Seats for Marquette Ram 2500 Pickup

January 25, 2021 By Jeremy Lambertson Leave a Comment

Ram 2500 starterA client from here in Marquette recently visited Driven Sound and Security to inquire about having us install a remote car starter and front seat heaters in his 2020 Ram 2500 pickup truck. After discussing where the client parks the vehicle at home and at work, we suggested the easy-to-use Compustar Pro R3 starter solution. The client loved the simplicity of the system and gave us the go-ahead to schedule an installation.

Aftermarket Seat Heater Upgrade

The seat heaters have elements in both the top and bottom seat cushions.

With the truck in our bay, we started the upgrade project with the installation of the front seat heaters. The kits we use include dedicated upper and lower heating pads that use flexible carbon fiber elements. Once installed in the vehicle, the system is undetectable, save for the comfort it provides. We mounted the high/low control switches on the side of the seats so they’d be easily accessible.

An important feature of this system is that the switches are mechanical. The owner can leave the heaters in the high or low position so that they start heating as soon as the vehicle is started. This simple feature allows the system to start working when the truck is started with the remote starter.

Compustar Remote Car Starter

With the seat heaters installed, we turned to the remote starter system. Our expert technicians prepped the harnessing and wrapped all the wires and cables in automotive-grade tape so that everything would be neat and tidy under the dash. The Pro R3 remotes are a one-button design that allows the owner to lock and unlock the doors and start the vehicle. As this is a two-way system, the Compustar control module in the vehicle can communicate with the remotes to let the owner know when the lock, unlock or start command has been received and executed. The remote includes a beeper and LEDs that let the user know what’s happening. This system offers up to 2 miles of range so that it will function reliably when the customer needs it.

Northern Michigan’s Remote Car Starter Experts

After most of a day’s work, we had the seat heaters and remote car starter integrated into this Ram 2500 pickup truck. When the client returned to Driven Sound and Security to pick up the vehicle, we gave him a walk-through of how everything worked. He was thrilled with our attention to detail and the performance of the systems.
