The Benefits of a Two-Way Remote Start Control Solution

January 8, 2021 By Jeremy Lambertson Leave a Comment

Two-Way RemoteChoosing a two-way remote from Driven Sound and Security in Marquette will make using a car starter more convenient. From confirmations of command requests to extended range options, these remotes let you know exactly what’s happening with your car or truck.

What Is a Two-Way Car Starter Remote?

Two-Way RemoteWith a conventional remote, commands from your key fob are transmitted to the controller in your vehicle. If you’re too far away or if interference from building walls degrades the transmission, the vehicle won’t start. In most cases, you won’t know until you get outside unless the vehicle was visible.

With a two-way starter, the controller in the vehicle transmits a confirmation signal back to the remote after a command has been received and executed. For example, if you push the start button, the remote will display an icon or flash an LED once the vehicle has started. Two-way remotes ensure that you know what your vehicle is doing.

If you opt for a two-way remote like the T13 or T9, a display on the remote lets you know if the vehicle is locked, if the engine is running or if optional security features have been triggered. On LED-style two-way remotes like the R5 or G15, you’ll see an LED flash and hear a beep when a command from the remote has been executed.

Increased Range for Added Reliability

Most of us use our remote starters from places other than home. As such, a remote solution with lots of range helps to ensure that your vehicle can be started long before you can see it. Compustar offers remotes with 1,000 feet, 3,000 feet, 1 mile or as much as 3 miles of range. If you park your car in the driveway in front of your house, then a short-range remote might be fine. If you live in an apartment building or work in a hospital or commercial facility, a 1- or 3-mile remote provides you with the power to drown out interference and start your vehicle.

Upgrade Your Remote Car Starter with the Experts at DrivenSS

The beauty of our Compustar remote car starter systems is that most are modular. If you want to upgrade an existing system with a two-way long-range remote, we can usually change the antenna and program the new key fobs quickly and easily. Drop by our store at 2293 US-41 West and talk to one of our Product Experts to find out what’s available for your car or truck. We can demonstrate how a two-way remote solution makes a car starter more convenient and reliable, and we’ll help you choose a solution that meets your needs. If you can’t visit the store, give us a call or send our team an e-mail – we’d be honored to help.
