A client from Marquette recently contacted Driven Sound and Security to inquire about a 2014 Ram 1500 paint correction project. The truck had some deep scratches that extended almost through the clear coat. After a thorough inspection, we suggested a full paint correction with our Stage 2 protection package.
After washing the truck, we started work on removing the scratches. Some of the deeper gouges required that we color-sand the surface to remove them. We finished with a heavy compound to smooth the surface. Next, we removed the haze left by the compound, using a medium-cut polishing compound. The final step in making the truck look amazing was a jeweling compound and a light touch with the polishing machine.
Our protection package includes a layer of GTechniq Crystal Serum Ultra and is topped by a coat of Gtechniq EXO for a deep shine. We also treated the wheels with Gtechniq C5 wheel armor to help make them easier to keep clean.
The client was stunned at how we were able to restore the paint finish and knows that, with some careful maintenance, the truck will look like new for years.
