October 6, 2017 By Jeremy Lambertson Leave a Comment

Kenwood DRV-N520

The new Kenwood DRV-N520 dashcam from Driven Sound and Security in Negaunee offers features and integration options like no other. With a high-definition camera, built-in GPS receiver and integration with the latest Kenwood multimedia receivers, the DRV-N520 is the perfect co-pilot as you navigate the roads. Let’s take a look at this amazing dash camera system in detail.

What is a Dashcam?

Quite simply, a dashcam is a video recording system that mounts to your windshield. The camera points forward to capture everything that happens in front of you. If you are in an accident, witness a collision or simply see something cool, the camera records it all.

The camera system starts recording as soon as you start your vehicle. You never have to remember to turn it on. The system includes a built-in microphone and a GPS receiver to store location and speed information. A three-axis accelerometer can be set to trigger recording events and activate the camera when your vehicle is in parking mode. Parking mode, when enabled, will turn the camera on to record an impact, even after the engine is turned off.

See the Past

Kenwood DRV-N520Do you ever wish you could go back in time to record something you have already seen? When the Kenwood DRV-N520 is triggered by the accelerometer or the REC button on the rear, it stores video from 12 seconds before the trigger. The overall length of the recording can be configured in the setup menu.

Multimedia Receiver Integration

The DRV-N520 is compatible with several new Kenwood multimedia receivers. When connected to a unit like the DDX6704S or DNX994S, the camera image and menu options are displayed on the screen of the radio. Video file playback and warnings from the Forward Collision Warning and Departure Delay systems integrated into the camera are also displayed.

Protect Yourself with a Kenwood DRV-N520

If you are concerned about fraud, false accusations or even that near-miss, a video recording system provides indisputable evidence of what happened. Drop by Driven Sound and Security to see the DRV-N520 and the latest Kenwood receivers in action. For more information, give us a call or send an e-mail using our online contact form.
