March 15, 2018 By Jeremy Lambertson Leave a Comment

Alpine iLX-F309The Alpine iLX-F309 is one of the most amazing source units on the market and is now available at Driven Sound and Security in Negaunee. Also known as the Halo 9, the iLX-F309 allows the addition of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to a variety of vehicles. Let’s look at the distinctive design of the F309 and outline its key features.

Single-DIN Chassis with External Display

Alpine iLX-F309What separates the Halo 9 from other CarPlay and Android Auto-equipped units on the market is its compatibility with single-DIN radio locations. The unique 9-inch display of the Alpine iLX-F309 mounts in front of the radio on a secure bracket. After it’s been mounted, the screen feels solid and secure, giving you an intuitive interface for your entertainment and communication needs.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Features

Alpine iLX-F309The Apple CarPlay and Android Auto interface solutions let you perform functions on your smartphone by talking to your radio. You can ask to send a text message or e-mail or make a phone call by pressing a button on your steering wheel. Turn-by-turn navigation and access to a nearly unlimited amount of music are also part of these technologies.

Alpine iLX-F309 Entertainment Features

The Halo 9 includes an AM/FM receiver with built-in HD Radio and a USB port to play MP3, WMA, AAC or FLAC media files. We can add SiriusXM satellite radio, and the Alpine DVE-5300 is compatible with the system if you want to play CDs or DVDs.

The F309 is ready to be the heart of your entertainment system with triple 4-volt preamp outputs and support for the Tune-It app to set crossovers and equalization. The Halo 9 is compatible with the Maestro RR vehicle interface module as well.

If you are in the Negaunee area, drop by Driven Sound and Security and ask for a demonstration of the iLX-F309. We would be happy to provide you with a quote to upgrade your vehicle with this amazing new source unit.
