A client from Marquette, Michigan, came to Driven Sound and Security because the stereo in his 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee sounded bad. We went out to listen to the truck with the client and quickly realized that there was something wrong with the front speakers. Back in the store, we invited the client to listen to different speakers on our display board. Once he had chosen a set he liked, we provided a quote to install them. He approved, so we scheduled an appointment.
Once we got started, it became quite clear what was wrong with the factory stereo. The foam surrounds on the speakers had disintegrated. There was nothing left! The speakers buzzed and rattled, and sounded horrible. Out they came and into the trash they went.
The client chose a set of Memphis Car Audio Power Reference series PRX620 speakers. These speakers are a slightly oversized 6.5-inch in a replacement system. The extra cone size provides more efficiency and better bass output.
The client was thrilled with how the truck sounded with the new speakers installed.
