Features and Functions We Can Add to Your Remote Car Starter

December 26, 2020 By Jeremy Lambertson Leave a Comment

Remote Start FeaturesWhen it comes to remote start systems for cars and trucks, Driven Sound and Security in Marquette has at least a dozen add-on features available. Aside from starting your vehicle to warm it up in the winter or cool it off in the summer, we can integrate door lock control, trunk release and much more. In this article, we’ll explore the ways we can make your remote start system do more than just start your vehicle.

Basic Features of a Remote Start System

Most of the vehicles we upgrade with a starter include door locking and unlocking control. Not only is keyless entry convenient when you’re leaving work or when you get home, but it’s also an easy way to make sure your car or truck is locked just before you go to bed. Our Compustar remote start systems can also lock your doors automatically once you get in the vehicle and turn the ignition on.

Remote Convenience Features

Remote Start FeaturesIf your car or SUV has a rear window defroster, we can use a temperature sensor to automatically melt ice and snow if it’s colder than 42 degrees inside the vehicle. This same sensor can also be used to trigger a heated steering wheel if your vehicle came with one. If your vehicle came with heated seats, we can trigger them automatically as well. If your car or truck doesn’t have seat heaters, ask us about adding them.

Aside from a dedicated trunk release on all four-button remote controls, these starter systems have multiple auxiliary outputs to connect to a secondary rear hatch release in an SUV tailgate or a power sliding door in a minivan. We can add a power window control module that will let you roll the windows down or close them automatically when you lock the vehicle. We can even close a power sunroof when the vehicle arms.

Security and Safety Options

We can also upgrade your remote starter to a full security system. This upgrade includes the DAS-II sensor that will monitor your vehicle for impact, motion and glass breakage. If you’re worried about someone stealing your wheels or catalytic converter, this is a perfect solution. The system includes a high-output siren and can be integrated with our Drone telematics option, so you’ll get a notification on your smartphone when the system is triggered.
