A client from Marquette who was referred to us by a friend reached out to us about adding a backup camera to his 2016 Jeep Wrangler’s factory radio screen. He wanted a high-mounted one that wouldn’t be inhibited by the low rear bumper on the Jeep and would give him a much clearer and wider view of the area directly behind the vehicle.
We chose a great camera that gives a much higher-resolution video image than any factory camera would, and mounted it using a bracket behind the spare tire. This allows the camera to poke through the rear spare tire, giving it protection and a higher mounting location than the license plate or bumper could. The included parking assist lines make for easy backing up in parking lots or in a garage, and we customized those to match the vehicle overhang and length. The entire setup looks and operates better than a factory camera would.
