Custom Boat Lighting Adds Convenience and Style

June 19, 2017 By Jeremy Lambertson Leave a Comment

Boat LightingDriven Sound and Security in Negaunee is well known for our marine entertainment system installations, but did you know we install boat lighting as well? The same philosophies that make us one of the best shops in Michigan for audio allow us to offer unique and awe-inspiring lighting upgrades. This article explains what makes us marine lighting experts.

Marine-specific Products

We see the occasional client who has tried to find the least-expensive way to add lighting to his or her boat. You can certainly purchase LED lighting products from Amazon, but do you know what you are getting? The marine environment is harsh. It is wet, hot and humid in the summer and frigidly cold when your boat is put away for the winter. Wiring, lighting elements and adhesives have to withstand these extreme temperature and environment changes.

Driven Sound and Security has invested in ensuring the products we offer perform reliably and look great. The same expectations that led us to industry-leading brands in marine entertainment like JL Audio have been the foundation for our selection of high-performance lighting products.

The Best Installation Practices in Michigan

To the layperson, hooking up a few lights sounds as simple as plugging your cellphone charger into the cigarette lighter plug of your vehicle. When we work on a marine lighting system, our criteria become much more involved. Equipment has to be located to provide even lighting while remaining as concealed as possible. The way we route wiring should meet, or exceed, the techniques used to manufacture your boat. Nobody wants to see wires dangling all over the place.

The choice of wire we use and the way we make electrical connections sets us apart from the rest. We solder every connection. A soldered connection is the most reliable for conductivity and reliability. Once we make our connections, we protect and secure them so they will last for the life of your boat.

Boat Accent Lighting Options

Boat LightingWe offer two categories of marine lighting solutions. Our accent lighting projects use waterproof red, green and blue (RGB) LED strips. We can install these RGB lighting strips almost anywhere. Under seats, in storage compartments and around speakers are standard mounting locations.

The RGB strips can be controlled with a remote control or from your cellphone. You can pick from millions of different color combinations and light intensities. Some of our lighting controllers can change the lights to the beat of your music.

If you are looking for a way to illuminate the water around your boat, we offer waterproof lighting, or what is often called a wake light. Many customers ask us to install these lights on the rear of their boats to light up the area around the swim platform. The effect is impressive.

LED Light Bars Brighten the Night

We offer many options when it comes to LED light bars. Clients use these to make docking safer, help them fish at dusk or watch for objects when out for an evening cruise. The same fanaticism about excellence that is behind our accent lighting installations governs our light bar projects.
